Half of what you see
The title of this installation takes the formula of Benjamn Franklin « Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear. » When applied to a sphere, this sceptical remark takes on a concrete significance. Suspended from the ceiling in an obscure room at the end of the exhibition space, a disco ball, of which all the mirrors have been removed with the exception of one, turns on its axis. A light illuminates the white polyester ball while the remaining mirror reflects light in the opposite direction of the shadow created by the bald sphere. In an atmosphere of closure the mirror reflects the light of its trajectory like a lone star emitting its final radiance before continuing along its course.
